I met Dewey and Gerry and the rest of the "America" band members nearly 15 yrs ago when they came to Enid, Okla. to do a show. I was invited to "shoot" the concert and subsequently became close and dear friends. I think you will see that reflected in these photos.
Since that chance meeting I have shot 50-75 of their shows from Calif. to Ohio and Neb. to Jackson, Miss. (niceto have a plane). I've found that although each show format is basically the same, it has it's own separate magic for that particular show. I never get tired of seeing them perform and always get great and different shots each time I look thru the camera at them. Amazing!!!!
I designed and published their first web site in the early/middle 90's after setting up a chat room for them on AOL. I had a wealth of input from various online personel that were avid "America" fans (thanks Rick Walhgren). I also designed and published Dan Peek's first web site before handing it over to Dan's brother.
I've met their wives, girlfriends, kids, parents and friends and have found that they surround themselves with the same kind of great people that each of them are themselves.
Because of them, I have been fortunate to meet and shoot many other groups and entertainers who are also included on this site.
